GULF BREEZE, Fla. (WKRG) — A Gulf Breeze plastic surgeon has pleaded not guilty to a homicide charge after his wife died of cardiac arrest during surgery, according to court documents.

Benjamin Jacob Brown, 41, was charged with second-degree manslaughter by culpable negligence on June 17 and was scheduled to appear in court this week before entering his plea.

Deputies were called to the business, Restore Plastic Surgery, on November 21, 2023, for a report of a medical emergency.

Authorities said that when their deputies arrived, they found that Hillary Ellington Brown, Benjamin’s wife, had suffered cardiac arrest and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Hillary was put on life support, but died on November 28, according to previous reports.
