While the Crittenden Ambulance crew was at Regional One, a patient allegedly left the hospital and hijacked a Memphis Fire Department ambulance.

The woman reportedly backed up and hit a large concrete block wall. She then drove toward a wall outside the trauma intensive care unit.

After swerving to avoid an armed security guard and a brick wall, she allegedly struck the driver’s side of a Crittenden ambulance, rendering the vehicle inoperable.

The woman reportedly fled in an ambulance and was captured moments later in a VA parking lot.

Crittenden EMS thanked the Memphis Fire Department, Memphis Police Department and Regional One Health Security Team for their professionalism.

It is not known if the woman was charged or if she suffered any injuries.
