Sacramento, California police: Woman killed in Northgate shooting



Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a woman found shot Monday in a residential neighborhood in Sacramento’s Northgate neighborhood.

The investigation began around 10 a.m. when officers were called to the 3100 block of Northstead Drive for a medical aid call, the Sacramento Police Department said in a news release Monday night.

Officers arrived at the scene and found the woman with at least one gunshot wound, police said. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release her name once her family is notified.

Homicide and crime scene investigators have taken over the investigation into the fatal shooting. Police said investigators will gather all evidence found at the scene and interview any witnesses found in the area.

Police said the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting remain under investigation, no arrests have been made and there is no suspect information to release at this time.
