Lancaster County coroner releases more details about woman who died after jumping from Route 30 overpass – Delco Times

The coroner’s office said Monday that a woman who fell from an overpass on Route 30 in Lancaster County last week committed suicide.

According to the coroner’s office and county dispatch, the 65-year-old Manheim Township woman was seen sitting on the edge of the Route 30 overpass around 5:30 a.m. July 1 when she fell into the eastbound lanes near New Holland Pike.

The coroner’s office said after the woman fell onto the highway, several vehicles struck her, noting she suffered “significant injuries.”

The coroner’s office said the woman died from multiple traumatic injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:49 a.m.

Route 30 east was closed for several hours after her death.
