One falls during Dokolo exercise – ChimpReports

One person lost consciousness during a UPDF recruitment exercise in Dokolo District.

Mr Okwir Levi, a resident of Okwongodul B village in Okwongodul parish in Dokolo Sub-county and Dokolo District, on Tuesday collapsed at the Dokolo Technical Institute in the Dokolo District Municipal Council headquarters where a training exercise was underway just before the end of a 4km run.

Captain Hassan Ahmed Kato, public information officer of the 4th Division, confirmed the incident to our reporter.

Mr. Levi was immediately evacuated by the Team Six ambulance and medical team to provide intensive first aid.

According to Captain Dr. Alex Kissa, team six physician, the candidate’s blood pressure dropped below normal, but he was resuscitated in time.

After regaining his balance and recovery, Okwir stated that he had not drunk enough water and had not eaten dinner or breakfast before coming to practice. Mr. Levi had not done a mile before he fainted.

Currently his life is safe, he is waiting for further medical tests.

The recruitment team is located at the Dokolo Technical Institute to recruit candidates who have submitted initial applications and have been shortlisted by the UPDF to join the armed forces.

On Tuesday, the UPDF conducted a recruitment exercise for candidates from Amolatar and Dokolo districts. Tomorrow, July 10, the team will recruit candidates from Kaberamaidi and Kalaki districts at the Dokolo Technical Institute in Dokolo City Council.

The two-day exercise, which will take place later this day, will allow for the recruitment of 39 candidates from Dokolo District and 30 candidates from Amolatar.

Captain Kato added that three people had fake Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results. They were from Dokolo and Amolatar districts.

The cases were forwarded to the relevant district DISOs for further investigation and management.
