On Tuesday, a balcony near the Hamidia Hospital parking lot collapsed.

The balcony of the old government building of Hamidia Hospital collapsed in Bhopal on Tuesday. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but three bikes were damaged. The damaged balcony collapsed and fell on vehicles parked below. The balcony was located between the old OPD block and the trauma building. The incident was reported around 1 pm, 48 hours after the false ceiling of the emergency ward of the new building collapsed at the hospital. Such an incident creates panic among doctors, staff and patients.

According to the staff present at the spot, in the afternoon they heard a sound of impact which caused panic among the people standing in the parking lot and nearby. When people turned to look, bicycles were damaged and the balcony was lying on the floor. A day earlier, on Sunday-Monday late evening, the false ceiling of the emergency ward of the same hospital collapsed. The ceiling collapsed in the pediatrics and neonatology ward of the Kamla Raja Women’s and Children’s Hospital building. Dozens of newborns were admitted to the ICU at the time of the incident.
