Police received a call around 3:31 a.m. about a possible gunshot victim in the sidewalk outside 124 River Street, according to Red Bank Police Capt. Mike Frazee.

When officers arrived, they found a deceased male victim lying partially on the sidewalk, as well as a second male victim who had been shot in the leg, Frazee said in an email.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

The male victim, who was shot in the leg, was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment, Frazee said.

As of 7:30 a.m., a heavy police presence remained at the scene, with the area around the brown single-family home cordoned off and the section of River Street east of Leighton Avenue closed to traffic.
