One of the cars involved in the crash caught fire when it collided with another at the intersection of South Anthony Boulevard and South Lafayette Street just after 4 a.m.

The victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner ruled their deaths accidental and determined they died from multiple blunt force injuries sustained during the crash.

Two more people were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, one of them was related to Vivar, a family member said.

According to Fort Wayne police, speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash. It is unclear who was at fault.
