KTLA reporter Sam Rubin revealed the cause of death

The cause of death of longtime KTLA reporter Sam Rubin has been revealed.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, the host and entertainment journalist died of natural causes due to ischemic heart disease caused by atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, which causes fatal cardiac arrest due to lack of blood and oxygen flowing to the heart.

According to the American Heart Association, coronary heart disease is caused by narrowing of the arteries, which leads to a reduction in the amount of blood and oxygen reaching the heart muscle.

“Mr. Rubin arrived at a local hospital complaining of stomach pain on the morning of May 10 after calling 9-1-1 on a physician’s order,” the coroner’s office said in a news release. “He was later pronounced dead in the emergency room.”

The news of the KTLA reporter’s death came out on May 10, when TMZ revealed he had a heart attack. The popular entertainment host had worked for the network since 1991. On the day of his death, several stars called KTLA to pay tribute to Rubin, including Henry Winkler, Cheryl Burke and Jerry O’Connell.
