GUWAHATI: A section of the Juri rampart collapsed after heavy rain on Tuesday evening, making the Juripar road extremely vulnerable to attacks. The Juri river flowing from 9th Mile Khanapara flows through Juripar to Silsako. With the worsening flood situation in the city, the Juripar road is turning into a river as the Juri river overflows even after a 15-minute downpour. While Ashim Saikia, councillor of GMC Ward No 59, visited the spot late on Tuesday evening, the PWD put up a bamboo barricade on Wednesday morning as a temporary measure.
