Hillside Fire in Yavapai County Threatens 5 Homes, 43 Homes Under SET Status

Yavapai County firefighters warned residents in the Congress area about the Hillside Fire and changed their alert system status to SET.

The Hillside Fire is burning near Ghost Town Road and as of 8:30 p.m. July 10, had expanded to nearly 380 acres.

SET warns residents to prepare for evacuation.

According to a post on the X (formerly Twitter) page by the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, five homes are threatened and 43 residential properties are located in the SET zone.

The fire was affected by wind. The department said the fire burned fuel that included grass, pine, juniper and other shrubs.

About 125 firefighters were dispatched to extinguish the fire. Helicopters were also dispatched to contain the blaze.
