Indian authorities recently reported that 37 people died and 19 were injured in a collision between a bus and a tanker in northern India.

According to police, the incident took place on Wednesday, July 10, when two motor vehicles, a tanker and a passenger bus, collided in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.

Reports suggest that the incident occurred when the bus was travelling from the eastern state of Bihar towards New Delhi. As a result, it collided with a tanker.

Indian authorities have described the road incident as “tragic”, highlighting the growing problem of road fatalities in India.

The country consistently records the highest number of road deaths in the world. India’s roads are notoriously dangerous, and many vehicles are old or in poor condition.

These fatal incidents underscore the urgent need to improve road safety in India. Despite efforts to enforce traffic laws and regulations, the frequency of such accidents remains alarmingly high.
