PPD seeks suspect in Dale Dr. homicide

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth police are searching for a person who faces first-degree murder and other charges in a May homicide on Dale Drive, police said.

Antonio Alonzo Collins, 35, also known as Knuckles, was charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, malicious shooting, cutting or stabbing and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with a May 25 homicide of Modrelle Britt, 33, police said.


Collins had previously been named a person of interest in the incident.

Collins is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Police responded to a call in the 20 block of Dale Drive around 1:19 a.m. on May 25, and when officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as Britt, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
