Nancy Pelosi changed her position this week and turned to the president Joe Biden to reconsider his decision to stay in the race for the White House in 2024.

The former House speaker, 84, became the latest high-profile Democrat to question Biden’s chances of defeating Donald Trump in November after the death of the 81-year-old commander-in-chief bottomless first debate appearance last month.

Pelosi is the latest high-profile Democrat to cast doubt on President Joe Biden’s chances of defeating Donald Trump in November.

Pelosi he told MSNBC Good morning Joe on Wednesday: “It’s up to the president to decide whether he’s going to run. We all encourage him to make that decision. Because time is running out.”

She later added: “I want him to do whatever he decides to do. And that’s what he is. Whatever he decides to do, we’ll do it.”

The California lawmaker, who has served in Congress since 1987, also said she wanted to wait until after Biden’s NATO summit in Washington this week to discuss the bumbling president’s reelection plans more broadly.

Pelosi said Good morning Joe President Biden: “Let’s wait. Whatever you think, tell someone privately, but you don’t have to put it on the table until we see how we do this week.”

“It’s up to the president to decide whether he’s going to run. We all encourage him to make that decision. Because time is running out.”

The former House speaker’s call for Biden to reconsider staying in this year’s race for the White House came days after she questioned whether the president’s performance in the June 27 debate with Trump was just an “episode” or a “state of affairs.”

She admitted: “I think it’s a legitimate question, is this an episode or a condition? And yes, when people ask that question, it’s a completely legitimate question — of both candidates.

“Both candidates must pass the test you wish to subject them to as to their mental fitness and health – both of them.”

The congresswoman’s spokesperson later clarified that Pelosi has “full confidence” in President Biden and looks forward to his second inauguration in January 2025 after defeating Trump.

Biden has no intention of backing down and is confident he can beat Trump this year.

Biden has rejected withdraw and remains convinced that he can still win the election. He wrote a verbal letter to his Democratic colleagues earlier this week and insisted he was “fully engaged” to stay and defeat Trump in November.

The struggling president wrote: “I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, definitely determined to stay in this race, to finish and defeat Donald Trump.”
