Apple’s Hit Workplace Thriller Returns in January 2025 – Punch Drunk Critics

The pandemic era has been a unique time for television, as many shows have emerged and become streaming hits while we’re all stuck at home with nothing else to do. Not all of the shows that were praised then have the same success in the post-pandemic era, but Apple is hoping Cut off will. The 14-time Emmy nominee is finally returning for a second season after a 3-year wait, and now we get our first look at his return to Lumon Industries.

Cut offThe Ben Stiller-produced series starring Adam Scott centers on the fictional company Lumon Industries and its employees who undergo a procedure that separates their professional memories from their personal ones. Lumon takes work-life balance to the next level by eliminating the need to bring personal luggage to the office and vice versa. It doesn’t take long for a deeper conspiracy involving the procedure and Lumon’s true intentions to begin to take shape.

Scott is joined in the cast by Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette and new series regular Sarah Bock. The series was created by Dan Erickson, who wrote the first four episodes of Season 2.

SUMMARY: In Season 2, Mark (played by Scott) and his friends learn the tragic consequences of neglecting the barrier of separation, leading them even further toward misfortune.

Cut off returns to Apple TV+ with 10 new episodes starting January 17, 2025.
