Truck accidents in New Jersey

Monmouth Co., NJ – Carla Rinconrumay loses her life in a crash on CR-539Truck accidents are often more serious than other types of accidents. It is true that trucks are much heavier than cars. In fact, they weigh about 20 or 30 times more than the average passenger car that often drives on American roads. This means that when they are involved in accidents, they often cause significantly more damage than other types of vehicles. Each year, there are about 500,000 large truck accidents in the United States, in which tens of thousands of people are injured and thousands lose their lives.

Several different contributing factors come into play when a New Jersey truck collision occurs. Some of these may include:

Driver error: Truck drivers are typically under a lot of pressure to meet deadlines, which can cause them to engage in risky behaviors, such as speeding. This can lead to accidents that cause injuries or even deaths.

  • Mechanical Failures: Tractor units are complex, large machines that require routine maintenance to maintain optimal operating condition. If the truck is not properly maintained, it can end up with problems that cause accidents.
  • Driver Error: Truck drivers are often under pressure to meet deadlines, which can result in them behaving in a way that puts their safety at risk. Some of this behavior can include speeding or being under the influence of alcohol.
  • Poor Road Condition: New Jersey roads can be in poor condition, especially in the winter. Potholes, ice, and snow can all contribute to truck accidents.

Unfortunately, victims of truck accidents often end up with injuries that are overwhelming and incredibly painful. Some of these injuries can cost tens of thousands of dollars to recover from and result in other damages, such as:

  • Lost earnings
  • Medical bills
  • Emotional turmoil
  • Pain
  • Suffering
  • Loss of joy in life
  • Property damage
